In pediatric dentistry, sealant procedures are performed frequently.
In my clinic, ZOO is often used during these treatments.
For pediatric sealant procedures, ZOO has become almost an essential tool.
For example, when placing a sealant on the lower left E6,
I usually use the pink ZOO.
Previously, after finishing the treatment on the lower jaw,
I would remove the ZOO, reverse its direction,
and then place it on the upper jaw to perform the sealant procedure there.
However, through clinical experience,
I realized that in some cases it is possible to perform the sealant procedure on the upper E6
while keeping the ZOO in place on the lower jaw.
This may not work for every child,
but in many cases the following sequence is possible.
First, perform the sealant procedure on the lower E6 with ZOO in place.
Then, without removing ZOO, proceed to place the sealant on the upper E6.
Using this approach significantly shortens the treatment time.
For pediatric patients, shorter procedures make treatment easier and more comfortable,
and it also benefits the clinician by improving efficiency during treatment.
