I frequently perform sealant treatments for children.
For pediatric sealant procedures, ZOO has become indispensable in my clinic.
When I first started using it, my reaction was simply, “This makes things so much easier.”
For example, when placing sealants on the lower left primary second molar and the first permanent molar (E–6 area), I use the pink ZOO.
Normally, after finishing the mandibular treatment, I would remove ZOO, flip it, and then place it for the maxillary teeth.
However, I discovered that in some cases, I can perform the maxillary sealant without removing the ZOO from the mandible.
In other words, with ZOO placed in the lower arch, I complete the sealant on the lower E–6, and then proceed directly to the upper E–6 while ZOO remains in place.
This approach does not work for every child, but when it does, it saves a significant amount of time.
The treatment finishes much faster, which makes it easier for children and improves cooperation for future visits.
It is truly a win-win situation for both the dentist and the patient.
